Less than Container Load (LCL) transportation is primarily designed for situations where the volume of goods is insufficient to fill an entire container. Small batches of goods from multiple shippers are consolidated into the same container for transportation. LCL offers higher cost-effectiveness, as shippers only need to pay for the space their goods occupy in the container. However, additional time is required to assemble, sort, and consolidate goods from different shippers, which can result in longer transportation times. LCL is suitable for shippers who are sensitive to transportation costs and have smaller volumes of goods.
